Mine-imator

Stegripe Mine-imator Bandrek Build Agreement

Effective date: October 15, 2026

This Agreement governs your download, installation, and use of Mine-imator Bandrek Build ("Bandrek"), and of the Stegripe services connected to it. It also covers distributing and modifying Bandrek. By installing Bandrek, using it, or logging in to it with a Stegripe account, you agree to this Agreement.

1. Definitions

  • "Stegripe," "we," "us," and "our" mean Stegripe and its divisions, including Stegripe Development, together with PT Stegripe Group Indonesia, the official corporate entity supporting Stegripe's legal, infrastructure, digital services, and business operations.
  • "Bandrek" means Mine-imator Bandrek Build, Stegripe's modified version of Mine-imator, in any form Stegripe distributes, including installers, portable archives, and updates.
  • "Upstream Software" means the original Mine-imator by David Andrei (Stuff by David), and the community-maintained Mine-imator Simply Upscaled Build on which Bandrek is based.
  • "Public Repository" means the Mine-imator Bandrek Build repository on GitHub.
  • "Stegripe Additions" means the features, code, artwork, and other materials that Stegripe created for Bandrek, as distinct from the Upstream Software and Third-Party Components.
  • "Third-Party Components" means software, libraries, assets, and other materials owned by third parties that are included with, linked into, or used by Bandrek, including Minecraft assets.
  • "Stegripe Services" means the online services Bandrek uses, including Stegripe account login, access checks, the co-op party service and relay, update checks, and splash art.
  • "Full Access" means access to the Stegripe Additions that require a Stegripe account, as described in Bandrek's documentation.
  • "User" or "you" means anyone who downloads, installs, or uses Bandrek.

2. Scope and Relationship to Licenses

2.1. This Agreement applies to Bandrek as distributed by Stegripe and to the Stegripe Services.

2.2. Upstream Software. Mine-imator's source code is published by its author under the MIT License. The Simply Upscaled Build is published by its contributors under the license in its own repository. Your rights in the Upstream Software are governed by those licenses.

2.3. Public Repository. The Public Repository holds the upstream Simply Upscaled Build source. It is published under the MIT License, as stated in its LICENSE file, and your rights in that code are governed by that license.

2.4. Stegripe Additions. Stegripe develops the Stegripe Additions privately and does not publish their source code. They are not licensed to you under any open-source license, except for any part Stegripe later publishes under one.

2.5. Third-Party Components. Bandrek builds include or link Third-Party Components such as discord-rpc, RapidJSON, libzip, zlib, OpenAL Soft, the FFmpeg libraries, and x264. Each is governed by its own license. Components noted in the Public Repository's LICENSE file, such as GameMaker components, also carry their own terms. Nothing in this Agreement grants you rights in Third-Party Components beyond their own licenses and terms.

2.6. Licenses prevail. Nothing in this Agreement restricts any right granted to you by an open-source or other license that applies to Bandrek or any of its components. This includes any right under such a license to use, copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute, or to obtain source code. If this Agreement conflicts with such a license, the license prevails for the code or material it covers.

3. Not Affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or the Original Mine-imator Author

3.1. Bandrek is an unofficial, community-made program. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang AB or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB / Microsoft, and Minecraft assets and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

3.2. Bandrek is a modified version of Mine-imator. It is not the official Mine-imator release, and neither David Andrei (Stuff by David) nor the Simply Upscaled Build contributors are responsible for Bandrek. Do not send them support requests about Bandrek.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

4.1. You may use Bandrek's trial version, which includes the features of vanilla Mine-imator, without a Stegripe account.

4.2. Full Access requires a Stegripe account, signed in with Discord. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement in your country and follow Discord's Terms of Service.

4.3. You are responsible for activity under your Stegripe account and on the computers you link to it. Log out of computers you no longer use.

5. Permitted Use

5.1. Subject to this Agreement and the licenses described in Section 2, you may download, install, and use the Bandrek builds that Stegripe distributes, on computers you own or control.

5.2. You may use Bandrek to create animations, renders, images, and videos, for personal or commercial purposes. That right is subject to Section 9 and to the rights of the owners of any assets you use.

5.3. Obtain Bandrek only from Stegripe's official channels, such as bandrek.stegripe.org/downloads or Bandrek's built-in updater. Stegripe is not responsible for copies obtained elsewhere, which may be modified or unsafe.

6. Full Access

6.1. Full Access is free. It is earned by meeting the conditions described in Bandrek's Full access documentation, which currently include:

  • being a member of the Bandrek Build Discord server; and
  • displaying the Stegripe guild tag on your Discord profile.

6.2. Earned access time, how much you can bank, and how long Bandrek keeps Full Access available while offline all follow the rules in that documentation. Stegripe may change those rules at any time.

6.3. Full Access is personal to your Stegripe account. You may not sell, transfer, share, or rent it.

6.4. Full Access is a revocable permission. It is not a purchased license or entitlement. When your access time runs out, when you are no longer eligible, or when access is revoked, Bandrek returns to the trial version.

7. Distribution and Modification

7.1. Open-source code. You may use, modify, and distribute the Upstream Software and the code in the Public Repository in line with their licenses. This includes keeping the required copyright and permission notices.

7.2. Stegripe Additions. Subject to Section 2.6, you may not do the following without Stegripe's prior written permission:

  • redistribute, mirror, or re-host Bandrek builds, as far as they contain Stegripe Additions;
  • distribute modified versions of the Stegripe Additions; or
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the Stegripe Additions, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Sharing official download links is always allowed.

7.3. Naming and branding. If you distribute any modified version of Mine-imator or of the Public Repository's code, do not call it "Mine-imator Bandrek Build" or "Bandrek," do not use Stegripe's logos or branding, and do not suggest that Stegripe made, endorses, or supports it, unless Stegripe agrees in writing. Keep the credits and notices that the Upstream Software licenses require.

8. Prohibited Activities

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

  1. bypass, disable, or tamper with Full Access checks, login tokens, device binding, or other access controls, or distribute tools or instructions to do so;
  2. share, copy, or reuse login tokens or Data/key.midata files between computers or Users;
  3. impersonate other Users, or create or use accounts to gain Full Access in ways that circumvent the documented conditions;
  4. send excessive, automated, or malformed requests to the Stegripe Services, or otherwise interfere with their operation;
  5. probe, attack, or attempt unauthorized access to the Stegripe Services or their infrastructure;
  6. use co-op sessions to share malicious files, illegal content, or content you have no right to share, or to harass other party members;
  7. distribute Bandrek bundled with malware, adware, or any unwanted software; or
  8. use Bandrek or its output in violation of law, Discord's terms, the Minecraft End User License Agreement, or the Minecraft Usage Guidelines.

9. Your Projects and Creations

9.1. Your projects and the original works you create with Bandrek remain yours. Stegripe claims no ownership of them.

9.2. Creations made with Bandrek may contain Minecraft assets, textures, models, or other third-party materials. Your use of those materials, including commercial use, is governed by the Minecraft Usage Guidelines and by the terms of their respective owners. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to all assets you import or use, such as skins, worlds, images, video, GIFs, audio, and fonts.

9.3. In a co-op session, you permit Stegripe to transmit your project data and imported assets to other party members through the Stegripe relay, as needed to run that session. You are responsible for what you share with your party.

10. Data and Privacy

10.1. Bandrek's data policy describes when Bandrek connects to the internet, what it sends, and what Stegripe stores. It forms part of this Agreement. In summary:

  • your projects stay on your computer unless you put them in a co-op party;
  • for login, Stegripe stores your Discord user ID, when your Full Access ends, and your guild tag progress towards the next week of access;
  • for each linked computer, Stegripe also stores a hash of its login token, its device hash, when it was linked, and when it last checked in;
  • the device fingerprint is hashed on your computer, and only the hash is sent;
  • Bandrek checks your access on startup, every 10 minutes, and when you press Refresh, and keeps Full Access available offline for up to 3 days after the last successful check while your access time lasts;
  • co-op data passes between party members through the Stegripe relay. The relay keeps the host's latest project snapshot in memory only while the party is active, so that members can sync. It clears that snapshot when the session ends and does not write project data to permanent storage;
  • party records, including the party code and members' display names, expire automatically after the party becomes inactive;
  • Discord Rich Presence is on by default and can be turned off in Bandrek's preferences; and
  • Bandrek keeps Mine-imator's own asset and news check, which contacts mineimator.com.

10.2. Logging out deletes your login token on Stegripe's side and removes it from your computer. Your Discord user ID and earned access time stay on your account. For other privacy requests, including deletion of your account data, contact Stegripe as described in Section 17.

10.3. Stegripe takes reasonable measures to protect the information it processes. However, no system is completely secure, and Stegripe cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Intellectual Property

11.1. Stegripe keeps all rights it holds in the Stegripe Additions, the Bandrek name, and Stegripe's logos and branding.

11.2. Mine-imator remains the work of its original author. The Simply Upscaled Build remains the work of its contributors. Third-Party Components remain the property of their respective owners. Stegripe does not claim ownership of any of them.

11.3. Community splash art and other community-contributed materials belong to their respective creators. This Agreement grants you no rights in them.

11.4. If you send Stegripe feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or feature requests, Stegripe may use them without any obligation to you.

12. Updates, Availability, and Discontinuation

12.1. Stegripe may release updates that add, change, or remove features, including Stegripe Additions and Full Access features. Automatic update checks are off by default and can be turned on in Bandrek's preferences.

12.2. The Stegripe Services are provided on an "as available" basis. They may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time. When they are unavailable:

  • login and access checks may fail, subject to the offline period described in Section 10; and
  • co-op sessions cannot be created or joined.

12.3. Stegripe may stop developing, supporting, or distributing Bandrek or any Stegripe Service, temporarily or permanently. The trial version's vanilla Mine-imator features do not need a Stegripe account. However, Stegripe does not guarantee that any version will stay compatible with future operating systems, Minecraft versions, or projects.

12.4. Keep backups of your projects. Stegripe is not responsible for lost or damaged projects.

13. Enforcement, Suspension, and Termination

13.1. If Stegripe reasonably believes you have violated this Agreement, or that your use creates a risk for Stegripe, the Stegripe Services, or other Users, Stegripe may:

  • revoke or suspend your Full Access;
  • unlink your computers or invalidate your login tokens;
  • block your access to co-op and other Stegripe Services; or
  • remove you from Stegripe community spaces under their own rules.

13.2. Stegripe may act without prior notice where needed to prevent abuse or harm.

13.3. You may stop using Bandrek at any time by logging out and uninstalling it.

13.4. Sections 9, 11, 14, and 15 survive any termination of this Agreement. Termination does not affect rights you hold under any license described in Section 2.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bandrek and the Stegripe Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Stegripe does not warrant that Bandrek will open every Mine-imator project correctly, that projects saved in Bandrek will remain compatible with other versions of Mine-imator, or that co-op sessions will be free of synchronization errors or data loss.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stegripe, its divisions, staff, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of projects, data, renders, revenue, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Bandrek or the Stegripe Services. Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. General Provisions

16.1. Changes. Stegripe may update this Agreement from time to time and will update the effective date above when it does. If you keep using Bandrek or the Stegripe Services after the updated Agreement takes effect, you accept the changes.

16.2. Applicable law. This Agreement is governed by applicable law. Nothing in this Agreement limits any rights you have under laws that cannot be waived or limited by contract.

16.3. Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions remain in effect.

16.4. No waiver. If Stegripe does not enforce a provision, that does not waive its right to enforce it later.

16.5. Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with the data policy, the Full Access documentation, and the licenses it refers to, is the entire agreement between you and Stegripe regarding Bandrek. Section 2.6 governs any conflict with those licenses.

16.6. Language. This Agreement is written in English. If it is translated, the English version prevails in case of any conflict.

17. Contact

For questions, privacy requests, or security reports, contact Stegripe at [email protected] or through the Stegripe Discord server. Report bugs and feature requests on the issue tracker.
